How Can I Secure Monaco Grand Prix Tickets in Advance?

The Monaco Grand Prix isn’t just a race. It’s an annual takeover of one of the smallest countries in the world. Public roads are turned into a circuit. Superyachts line the harbour. And fans from all over Europe flood the hills, balconies and grandstands to get a glimpse of the most unforgiving track in Formula 1. But here’s what most people don’t realise until it’s too late: Monaco has far fewer seats than other races. There’s no general admission. No space to stand. No relaxed, last-minute options. If you want to go, you need to plan ahead.
Don’t Wait. Plan Now.
Every seat in Monaco is reserved. Every balcony is booked in advance. Every yacht has a list. It’s not like Silverstone or Spa where you can wander in on the day. That means:
- You need to decide when you’re going
- You need to choose where you want to sit (or stand)
- You need to book early ideally months before
Leave it too long and you’ll either overpay, settle for poor views or miss out entirely.
When Is the Monaco GP 2025?
The 2025 Monaco Grand Prix is expected to run from Thursday 22 May to Sunday 25 May, with the main race on Sunday 25 May. The schedule:
- Thursday – Practice
- Friday – Day off (for F1)
- Saturday – Final Practice + Qualifying
- Sunday – Race Day
Monaco’s format is different. Thursday is busier than you'd think. And Friday, while quieter on the track, still hosts support races and events. Many fans go all four days.
What Are the Ticket Options?
Grandstands
These are fixed seats with views of different corners and sections. Prices vary depending on location and day.
Top picks:
- Grandstand K – Near the harbour and Tabac
- Grandstand T – Facing pit lane and final turns
- Grandstand B – Casino Square (short view, stunning setting)
- Grandstands L–P – Along the harbour and pool complex
Expect to pay around €300–€700 for Race Day alone or €800+ for the full weekend.
Balcony Access
Some residents and hotels open up terraces overlooking the track. These offer:
- A quieter experience
- Food and drink included
- Great views (with shade and proper seating)
Prices start at around €1,500–€3,000 depending on the day and location.
Yacht Packages
The most premium way to watch. Moored in the harbour, metres from the track. Includes:
- All-day catering
- Drinks and hospitality
- Deck viewing
Usually priced from €3,000 upwards for Race Day. Spaces are limited.
When Should You Book?
Now. Most good balcony and yacht packages are gone by early in the year. Grandstand tickets often sell out by spring, especially the popular ones. If you’re going in 2025, make your decisions by late 2024 or early 2025. You’ll have more choice and you’ll avoid panic-booking whatever’s left.
Where to Stay
Staying in Monaco is expensive. Hotels require a 3–4 night minimum. And the closer you get to the track, the higher the price. Most people stay nearby and commute in.
Best alternatives:
- Nice – 30 mins by train
- Menton – Small, quiet and close
- Beaulieu-sur-Mer – Great for couples or groups
- Eze Village – Scenic but hilly
Trains are frequent and reliable. Don’t assume you need to be inside Monaco to enjoy the weekend.
Travel Tips
- Fly into: Nice Côte d’Azur
- Get around: Trains are the best option. Avoid driving.
- Arrive early: Bag checks and long walks to your seat are normal.
- Prepare for the weather: Most seats are uncovered. Bring sun protection.
What to Avoid
- Booking through unknown websites – If it looks too good to be true, it probably is
- Waiting until April or May – Most quality seats are gone by then
- Ignoring seating plans – Some stands look great on paper but have restricted views
- Assuming the cheapest option will be “good enough” – Monaco isn’t the race to compromise on view or access
What Makes Monaco Different?
- You’re closer to the track than at almost any other race
- Overtaking is rare — it’s all about strategy, qualifying and precision
- The atmosphere is unique: a mix of noise, luxury and tension
And while other races offer better racing, Monaco offers the best experience if you’ve booked it right.
